No Experienced Required is an Irish RTE reality television series that debuted on RTÉ Two in February 2006.

Seasons

The first season consisted of 6 episodes. The series offered 3 individuals with no experience in the relevant fields the opportunity to win the job of their dreams. In each episode the 3 finalists would partake in 2 weeks work experience and the finalist who impressed the employer the most would secure a six month contract with the firm. Jobs on the line were Reporter, Chef, Sports Trader, Fashion Buyer, Interior Designer, and Advertising Creative.

e.g. In episode six, Sinead Kenefick won a six month contract with the Irish Daily Star, beating fellow contestants Paul McSherry and Aaron Long.

Controversy

No Experience Required: Transition Year

RTÉ Two also air a transition year version of the show, which is open to students who are going into, currently in or have recently completed Transition Year. The first series covered:

Instead of a job contract, the winners gain an extra week of work experience and also an opportunity to 'create contacts' in the business. The second Series of the show is currently being broadcast on RTÉ Two, Sunday at 11:50. The career paths are:

A special one off episode of No Experience Required Transition Year was aired in October 2008. The job experience was the position of Arts Administrator in the IFI during the Lights Out film festival. The three finalists were David Vard, Aidan Knowles, Patrick Fitzgerald. The overall winner was Patrick who received a weeks work placement in the IFI.
